Precautions of Zetacap™

Perry M. Belcher Companies, the parent company of Selmedica Healthcare (the makers of Zetacap™) were cited with violations from the Food and Drug Administration for using misleading statements on their Web site. There are also complaints registered against this company on the Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South.
At the official Web site for Zetacap™ (administered by Selmedica Healthcare) the company claims its product, Zetacap™ has been granted GRAS status by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (Generally Recognized As Safe). In fact, the Food and Drug Administration does not believe the ingredients in Zetacap™ are safe and effective and the FDA has asked the makers of Zetacap™ to correct the violations, which includes false or misleading labeling.
The claims made by the makers of Zetacap™ have not been evaluated by the FDA. The official site for Zetacap™ has wording on it that implies the FDA reviews or approves dietary supplements when in fact they do not.
According to the Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South, Selmedica Healthcare has an "unsatisfactory record" with the BBB due to a large number of unanswered complaints. Some of these complaints include "non-delivery of products ordered on the Internet, unresolved credit and billing issues, failure to issue promised refunds, unauthorized credit card charges, product quality issues, deceptive advertising practices and dissatisfaction with the company's service."
There are forums and sites that discredit Zetacap™ as a weight loss solution. According to ultimatefatburner.com, a site that reviews fat burners, diet supplements and weight loss programs, Zetacap™ is "outrageously advertised as an alternative to gastric bypass."
According to the site, what Zetacap™ is really offering is a very expensive fiber supplement, and would only provide results similar to that of Metamucil. They also claim that Zetacap™ is not up-front about all of the ingredients in the diet pill, which raises questions about what those ingredients are and why they don't want to reveal them.
There is also conflicting information about how many users of Zetacap™ have achieved weight loss results. On the official Zetacap™ site, the makers of the product claim there have been 200,000 successful cases, while http://amazing-diets.info/ reported that Zetacap™ has had only 27,000 successful cases.
The makers of Zetacap™ recommend that women who are pregnant or nursing do not use this product until breast-feeding has ended. This company also cautions against taking any other medications while using Zetacap™.
